1. When is the 24-hour pottery marathon?
Pottery24 will begin at 5pm on Friday, September 26 and end at 5pm on Saturday, September 27. Our Open House will take place from 10am to 5pm on Saturday, September 27th.
2. How many potters will be participating in Pottery24?
There will be 10 to 12 potters taking part in the 24-hour pottery marathon, throwing on the wheel for 2- to 4-hour shifts. Potters will be throwing on the wheel, hand-building and there will be an opportunity for public to participate during the open house on Saturday, September 27 between 10am - 5pm.
Volunteer teams will be dropping off coffee, snacks and meals during the marathon. If your organization would like to support our potters by providing any of the above, please email us at pottery24@justwork.ca.
3. I want to see the potters at work during Pottery24. Can I visit the studio?
Yes. This year, Pottery24 is proud to be participating in BC Culture Days. You’re welcome to visit the JustPotters studio and art space on Saturday, September 27 from 10am to 5pm during our Open House. View beautiful hand made pottery and sculptures, and watch our potters in action as they throw on the wheel and hand-build. Get your hands dirty and mess around with clay in our kid friendly zone; try your hand at clay, or jump on the potters' wheel -- adults welcome too!
4. Can I purchase pottery during the Pottery24 fundraising weekend?
Yes, we’ll be selling pottery at the JustPotters studio on Saturday, September 27 from 10am to 5pm. To purchase a limited-edition piece of pottery made during Pottery24, email us at pottery24@justwork.ca.
5. What kind of payment do you accept for pottery purchases? Is there an ATM on-site?
We accept cash, cheques (made out to JustWork), VISA and Mastercard. There is no ATM at our studio, but RBC and VanCity have ATMs a block away.
6. I live outside of Metro Vancouver and won’t be able to attend the event. How else can I support JustPotters?
There are many ways to get involved: become a supporter, donate now, or encourage a business to support our fundraiser by matching donations.
One of the best ways to show your support is by becoming a Pottery24 Supporter. Supporters pledge to raise $240, $360, $480 or more! You can do so by finding 10 friends to give you $24 each, or by finding creative ways to get creative.
Or, you can simply donate now. To donate online, visit our Chimp Giving Campaign page.
This year our goal is to raise $24,000, and every dollar counts. We are a registered charity, and all Canadian donations are tax deductible.
7. How is the money raised from Pottery24 used?
All money raised from Pottery24 goes directly to support the work and mandate of JustPotters. To learn about our mission and goals, please visit JustPotters.com.
8. How can I help spread the word?

12. Who manages JustPotters Studio?
Jasmine Wallace has managed the pottery studio since May 2012. Jasmine is a Canadian sculptor born in Prince George, B.C. She comes from a family of self-taught artists and grew up in the artist community of Vancouver Island. She holds a Bachelor in Fine Arts with a major in ceramics from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and a Master of Fine Arts with a major in ceramics from the University of Minnesota. She has exhibited her work extensively throughout Canada and the United States.
13. Is the pottery studio open to the public?
The pottery studio is located at 1803 East 1st Avenue in Vancouver, BC and has some regular open hours.

14. I’m interested in making my own pottery. Does JustPotters offer workshops or classes to the public?
Yes, we have recently started offering team building and group pottery workshop classes. Find out more at JustPotters.com. If you're interested in classes, let us know by emailing justpotters@justwork.ca.
This year, Groups who raise $1000 or more, will receive a free Group Pottery Workshop for 10-12 people. Find out more here.
15. What’s the relationship between JustPotters and JustWork?
Established in 2004, JustWork is a Vancouver-based non-profit organization that operates three social enterprises – JustPotters, JustCatering and JustRenos – to provide meaningful employment for people facing barriers. JustPotters sells handmade pottery and crafts to support our mandate.
